HSC News and Updates

Smart Moves Coaching Australia has been helping students and parents through the education years since December 2004.

As soon as the parents come in, a friendly and studious atmosphere is apparent to students, parents and tutors.  Most of Smart Moves Coaching students enjoy coming for their weekly session and many of them pop in to say “Hello” long after their HSC.  Students appreciate the caring, dedicated and flexible staff at Smart Moves Coaching.  Students often mention the efforts made to accommodate their timetable, changing every term.  Students are not locked into a contract, they can stop as soon as they feel tutoring is not required any more for their success.

Tutoring is an important part of the education process because learning is an individual process.  All individuals learn differently.  Most people learn better in a one-on-one format.  Essentially, education is more than rote learning: it is about developing good “thinking skills”, for both school and life in general.

Walter B. Sprinkle, a former GPS English and History teacher has been working with children for more than 25 years.  Walter, trained at the University of New England, has taught gifted and talented students, as well as students with learning difficulties.  He and his team have been working with students from year 4 to University in their friendly offices in Roseville since 2004.

All tutors are recruited upon review of their qualifications, experiences and personality which are all essential aspects of working with young people and teenagers.  Walter and his tutors combine over 50 years of experience in teaching and tutoring.  They are all extremely knowledgeable in their subject areas and the syllabus.  All tutors develop an individual course of study that addresses HSC requirements as well as proficiency in exam techniques.  Tutors work one-on-one with their students at their own pace, helping them with homework or exam preparation.  Smart Moves Coaching does not set its own course of study.  Rather, tutors follow the syllabus and the respective schools’ programs while teaching the skills and knowledge of the students’ course.

Smart Moves Coaching Australia helps students who experience difficulties at school but also provide a caring environment where student’s confidence is developed and consolidated.  Some students are also being taught by Walter and his team to be challenged because their class and teachers do not provide them with the intellectual challenge they need.  Students can also sit mock exams at our offices and will examine their copy of the exam with their tutor on their next visit.

After being taught at Smart Moves, students feel more confident and relaxed about examination, assessments and class tests.  The majority achieve excellent results at School Certificate and HSC and they feel that they have performed to the best of their ability.

2010 Starting Times

We start tutoring on Monday, 11th of January so call us now on 94164222.

Large classes inevitably leave some students behind as teachers keep the pace moving forward without foundation skills.  However the most effective way of addressing students’ knowledge and skills is One-on-One tutoring.   At Smart Moves One-on-One means One-on-One.  Each student’s lesson provides them with a dedicated tutor for the entirety of their lesson.

Over the past few years, we have helped students from all around the world.  Our tutors are capable of preparing students for international assessments including the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and International Baccalaureate (IB).  Languages are also our speciality with many of our tutors being native speakers in many languages including French, Japanese and German.  We also have tutors processing certification to teach English as a second language (ESL), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
